Governor Signs Historic Education Reform Bill
In a landmark ceremony attended by education stakeholders, community leaders, and student representatives, the Governor signed a historic education reform bill into law that promises to transform the state’s school system.
The legislation allocates an additional 15 percent of the state budget to education, mandates free school meals for all public school pupils, and introduces technology centers in rural schools to bridge the digital divide.
Teachers’ unions welcomed the bill while noting that implementation details and accountability mechanisms will be critical to its success.
