Lagos State Government Launches Free Internet Project Across Schools
The Lagos State Government has inaugurated an ambitious digital inclusion project that will bring free high-speed internet access to over 1,000 public schools across the state. The initiative is part of a broader effort to bridge the digital divide and prepare Nigerian students for a technology-driven future.
Speaking at the launch ceremony in Lagos, the State Governor emphasised that access to quality digital education is a fundamental right that should not be determined by economic status.
Infrastructure and Implementation
The project involves laying fibre-optic cables across key districts and installing Wi-Fi access points in classrooms, libraries and administrative buildings. Partnerships with leading telecommunications companies have been secured to maintain and upgrade the infrastructure.
